Job Description:
Under the general supervision of the Vice President for Academic Affairs(VPAA)/Provost, the Division Coordinator (WCC) serves as an important member of a team that supports the New York HSI Hub: Building Community College Capacity in Culturally Responsive Professional Development and Grantsmanship, a multi-year grant funded through the National Science Foundation.
The position works in collaboration with the VPAA, faculty co-PI's, subaward co-PI's, Office of Institutional Advancement staff, external evaluators, SUNY and CUNY partners, and external stakeholders to support the day-to-day operations of the New York HSI Hub and contribute to the overall goal of enhancing the preparedness of faculty to engage in culturally responsive teaching in STEM and support grantsmanship mentoring to increase the capacity of STEM faculty and colleges.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Overseeing and coordinating the recruitment and participation of faculty, staff, and administrative participants in mentored cohorts engaging in professional development in culturally responsive teaching in STEM and grantsmanship.
- Supporting faculty members in the continuous enhancement of instructional methods to create an inclusive and culturally relevant learning environment.
- Ensuring compliance with grant requirements by monitoring grant progress and milestones by routinely reviewing the project's goals, measurable objectives, and approved activities.
- Maintaining the grant budget, including ensuring funds are allocated appropriately and addressing any changes needed.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate must possess:
- Master's Degree in Education, Educational Administration, Public Administration, Business Administration or a related field and two years of experience in the administration of an academic, programmatic or support services area in the field of Education or in the public sector; OR
- Bachelor's Degree and four years of experience as defined in (a).
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and evidence of equity-minded practice in all college policies, practices, and personnel.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: It is preferred that the candidate have:
- A Master's Degree and two years of experience developing or administering grant funded programs or professional development programs for faculty in higher education or a related area.
- Three to five years of experience with professional development programs for faculty or grants implementation in a community college, higher education setting and STEM programs is strongly preferred.
- Experience in college teaching.

POSITION EFFECTIVE: The position will remain open until filled.
SALARY & BENEFITS: The starting salary is $83,556. Additional compensation with seniority steps maximize at a salary of $128,855. Benefits include comprehensive health coverage, a choice of defined benefit and/or defined contribution pension plan, generous leave benefits, and access to tax sheltered annuities and a deferred compensation plan.
WORK SCHEDULE: The work schedule is Monday through Friday 9:00 am - 5:00 pm.
