Organization Description:

Erie Community College Foundation, Inc. is a 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to providing funding by way of scholarships, capital campaigning, specific program assistance, emergency assistance, and work force training partnership opportunities to benefit the students of SUNY Erie Community College. Our goal is to provide as many students as possible in order to ensure finances are never a barrier for an education for any resident of Erie County.

Together with our board, the SUNY Erie administration, and local political supporters, the Foundation works with private, public, and nonprofit entities to grow strategic partnerships and relationships within Western New York, to create pipelines for our students to graduate and enter the workforce immediately in their field.

Position Summary:

The Erie Community College Foundation, Inc. is seeking a dedicated, professional, and passionate Scholarship and Development Coordinator looking to build a career in non-profit fundraising. The individual will be a key team member playing a critical role in helping the Foundation achieve its goals and objectives.

This rewarding opportunity has a high level of visibility both with the SUNY Erie and business community. It will give you hand on experience with all facets of non-profit and foundation activities, from fundraising and special events to grants and board coordination.

The Development Associate will collaborate extensively with ECC Foundation Staff, Board and SUNY Erie College. They will manage the scholarship program, and function as support for all fundraising efforts, special events, annual giving, peer to peer campaign activities, donation tracking, and relationship building.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Scholarship Program Management including donor relations, support with communications and Scholarship Luncheon, as well as database update;

- Conduct research on potential donors and funding opportunities
- Assist in the planning and execution of fundraising events
- Manage and update donor database using Raiser's Edge software
- Create and implement email marketing campaigns to engage donors and supporters
- Coordinate social media efforts to promote fundraising initiatives and increase awareness
- Assist in the development and implementation of strategic fundraising plans
- Collaborate with team members to create compelling content for fundraising materials
- Provide administrative support to the development team as needed

- Collaborate with ECCF Staff for execution of sponsorship benefits.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and professional experience required

- At least 1-2 years of relevant experience, with preference for previous fundraising, higher education, and/or nonprofit and project management experience.
- Proficiency in Raiser's Edge or similar donor management software
- Strong knowledge of email marketing platforms, such as MailChimp
- Experience in event planning and coordination
- Familiarity with social media management for nonprofit organizations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of WordPress or other content management systems is a plus
- Understanding of wills, trusts, and estate law is a plus

Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Excel & Microsoft Office products is a must
  • Experience working with database management with Blackbaud Raisers Edge a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills
  • Highly collaborative in approach
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously while managing deadlines
  • Passion for education and the long-term betterment of the Western New York Community

Compensation and Benefits:

Salary for this position is $58,500/year. This is an outstanding opportunity to learn and grow both your career and network with a highly effective nonprofit. Salary will be commensurate with experience. Full benefits include health care, 401K, paid holidays, vacation, flexible work arrangement. Onsite Daycare available through SUNY Erie Community College.
